This is a novel in progress that I am working on. It is a tale of romance and love. It is an allegory of God’s love for us. The inspiration for this novel is taken from Hosea, chapter one, chapter two and chapter three. This is a true story, and one that has ministered to me and touched my heart like no other. Obviously, there is a lot more to the story than what we read in those three short chapters in Hosea, and what the story doesn’t say intrigues me.
Therefore, I’ve expanded on the story, not because I’m trying to add to scripture, but because my heart’s desire is to write a story, which stays true to its Jewish heritage and the characters involved. Who knows why Hosea’s wife, Gomer was so rebellious? What was she thinking? Did she regret her actions? And what about Hosea? Was he a laughing stock in his hometown? What was there about Gomer that made him continue to love her, even in her rebellion? And what about the children involved? How were they effected by the events in the story?
This novel is an attempt to answer some of these questions, and many others as well. What causes a man to love a woman with a love that refuses to give up, despite the circumstances? And since this is an allegory of God’s love for us, what kind of God loves a rebellious and unfaithful people? What kind of God continues to love me, in spite of the many times I’ve cheated on Him and gone my own way? Please join me on this journey, as I begin writing “A Love That Will Never Let Me Go.”
