What’s That Sound?

In the thunderous raging storm, I heard it
And in the flaming tongues of fire
I heard it in the quiet night
And in many rushing waters
In the depths of my darkest fears
The voice of God whispers,
“Peace, be still.”

    • It really is comforting. Even when He is silent, I know He is with me, because He promised to never leave me nor forsake me. Thanks so much for commenting. I truly appreciate it.

      God bless you,

    • Thanks so much Shailaja. You’re exactly right – how can we hear Him if we’re too busy talking and making noise?

God bless you and thanks for commenting.

  1. Yes, the still, small voice. Beautiful job with these contrasts and great proclamation of faith.

    • Thanks for reading and commenting Jennifer. I love that still small voice, and I wanted to show that we can hear it, no matter how loud the clamor around us is.

      God bless you,
      Cheryl

  2. You accomplished a great contrast here between the noise of a storm and the presence of peace, the reminder to be still.

  3. Cheryl, what a lovely imagery you’ve created here! Those are the lucky few who can hear the sound of God against all the noises around them. I’m glad you hear Him and can connect to Him.

    Keep it going,
    Love
